A river-wide project with film and sound acting as pollinators between community gardens and orchards.
In 2023, Connecting Threads collaborated with artist Jules Bradbury and sound recordist Tom Swift as well as five community gardens and garden volunteers to creatively document the sights and sounds of each garden.
Inspired by the idea of sharing and sowing seeds of inspiration and knowledge, we collectively produced five short films using mini iPads and contact microphones with the plants, soil and biodiversity of each garden filmed by those who care and nurture them. In October, the resulting short films were screened in the solar-powered Moving Images Cinema caravan at celebratory events in each garden.
