Little Art Hub, Galashiels
Experience Gala Water and the River Tweed like never before. The route will be bedecked with artworks and soundscapes produced during the March and April group walks and workshops organised by Connecting Threads. Beginning at Little Art Hub in Galashiels town centre, the group will take a joyful, leisurely wander along the Black Path, which runs alongside Gala Water, and down to the confluence with the Tweed at Galafoot. Along the way will be all manner of works produced by artists Georgie Fay and Balandino Di Donato in collaboration with local primary schools and community groups.
‘Town to River, River to Town’ is a new partnership between Connecting Threads and Galashiels Walking Festival that embeds contemporary art into organised group walks through a programme of participatory events. This is the first time that the two organisations have worked together and the first time that the walking festival has featured artists as part of its programme.
