2 July 2024, 13:00 – 17:00
Horncliffe Memorial Hall
In the lead up to the Horncliffe Beer & Music Festival (6-7 July), artist Morvern Graham leads a creative workshop in association with Horncliffe Arts Society.
Drop in any time between 1pm and 5pm to learn how to make a giant salmon puppet, which will then form the visual centrepiece for a celebratory community procession through the town during the festival itself.
In this workshop we will delve into the importance behind the folkloric symbolism of salmon and the River Tweed, and get our hands stuck into some wild crafts and puppetry. This workshop is facilitated by Connecting Threads and led by Scottish artist and storyteller Morvern Graham, whose work explores themes of heritage, folklore and bringing local stories to life.
