Rachel Sutherland:
Into the Woods workshop
23 June 2024, 14:00 – 17:00
Norham Village Green
Artist Rachel Sutherland leads a free art workshop that includes a short walk to the River Tweed to collect, sketch, or photograph flowers, leaves, water, earth and other natural fragments with which to construct pieces of art.
Participants can use water from the river, earth and sap, twigs and paints, inks and graphite to create their own personal artworks. The work may be 2D or 3D, abstract, botanical or representational. This is an inclusive workshop suitable for adults already possessing a range of creative experience and those who are just beginning.
You will need sturdy shoes/boots, a water jar and bag for findings. If you can, please bring your own materials: paper/board/canvas (A4 to A1), brushes, inks, acrylics, watercolours or any other medium you like to work with such as charcoal/graphite. Bring string/wire for 3D work. Don’t worry if you don’t have materials of your own as some will be made available.
Places are strictly limited. The event is free but you must register in advance with norhamartsgroup@gmail.com
